Privacy & Cookie Notice

Thank you for agreeing to join our select group of panelists. For decades, Nielsen has set the standard for global market and consumer insight research. Our insights are based on representative samples of the population and help our clients (e.g., manufacturers, retailers, non-profits and governments) learn about what consumers watch, buy, their preferences and behaviors. Your participation in our panel helps us create our consumer insight solutions

We take your privacy very seriously. We have created this Notice to help answer questions you may have about how we protect and use your personal identifying information. Please note that this Notice, available through (collectively, our "Site"), applies only to your participation in the Panel, and not to any participation in any other panels or online services provided by Nielsen.

Please be sure each member of your household reads this Notice carefully.

A. OUR PRIVACY COMMITMENT

We protect the identities of our participants. We will NOT use your personal identifying information (or those of members of your household) to advertise, promote, or sell goods or services directly to you or members of your household; and we do not allow our clients to market directly to you.

Participation is always voluntary. You can access, edit or correct the information in your profile on the panel member website at any time.

You may also if at any time you would like to correct or update the information we hold about you, or if you wish to withdraw your consent and stop your participation.

F. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

For our research, we collect information about every member of your household and this includes any children in your household. If we collect information about children, we take special care. When we collect information online (e.g., information associated with streaming videos) directly from very young children (under age 13), special regulations apply. The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") requires that we provide you with this notice and get the verifiable, informed consent of the parent or guardian and we comply with this law. The parent or guardian may cancel this consent at any time. You may also contact us through your Field Representative at any time if you would like to learn about any information we may have about your children.

As described in this Notice, our software, including our router and software technology, collects information about streaming audio and video (television, radio, computer, device, and Internet) behavior and preferences from members of your household, including from children who may be under age 13. These tools collect personal identifying information from children under age 13. For example, when children use televisions, computers, mobile devices, or other devices from which our router technology measures media consumption, we use persistent identifiers to collect and track certain information from the child. We may use such means as IP addresses, MAC addresses, or other unique device identifiers to collect and track such information as the content, including ads and videos that the child viewed and/or, to which the child was exposed. For more information on our collection and use practices for all panelists, including children under age 13, please see sections B, C, and G of this Notice.

G. COOKIES AND OTHER INTERNET TECHNOLOGIES

General Use: Cookies are small files that store certain data on a device or computer. We may use both session and persistent cookies on our recruitment, panel member and survey respondent websites. Cookies, pixel tags, web beacons or similar technologies may be used on some of our website pages and HTML-formatted e-mail messages to, among other things, manage panels and surveys and to enhance your experience as a panelist or survey respondent. We may also use these technologies for security purposes, to facilitate navigation, to display information more effectively, and to better serve you with more tailored information, as well as for site administration purposes, e.g., to gather statistical information about the usage of our websites in order to continually improve the design and functionality, to understand how visitors use our websites, and to assist us with resolving questions regarding use of the websites.

Additionally, we may allow our member or survey recruitment vendors to use web beacons and cookies on our registration pages for purposes such as payment verification. We have no access to or control over these cookies. This Notice covers the use of cookies by this site and members of the Nielsen family of companies only and does not cover the use of cookies by any of our vendors.

Audience Measurement, Ad Effectiveness, and Interest-Based Categories: After you become a panelist or survey respondent, we also use cookies for audience measurement purposes, ad effectiveness research, and to assist in the creation or assignment of categories for interest-based advertising. ("Interest-based advertising" is also sometimes called "online behavioral advertising.")

As a participant in our market research activities, you consent to the use of the above technologies, and we request that you do not opt out for the duration of your participation.

This Notice does not address, and we are not responsible for, the privacy, information or other practices of any third parties, including any third party operating any site to which this Site contains a link. I. DATA SECURITY & TRANSFER

We use reasonable organizational, technical and administrative measures to protect your information under our control. We may store and process your personal identifying information in your home country and/or we may transfer and export these data outside of the European Economic Area to any country where we have facilities or in which we engage service providers and processors, including the United States and India. The data protection laws of other countries may differ from those in your home country. Please be aware that storage and communication of data cannot always be 100 percent secure.

By participating in this research, you consent to transfer of your information to countries outside of your country of residence. By way of clarification, by voluntarily disclosing sensitive information to Nielsen, you expressly consent to the transfer of sensitive information by us to any country where we have facilities or in which we engage service providers and processors, including the United States and India.

J. DATA RETENTION

We will retain your personal identifying information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Notice and in with accordance with law.

K. UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE

We may change this Notice. Please take a look at the "Effective Date" at the top of this page to see when this Notice was last revised. If we were to make a material change (the kind of change to the way we use your data that might make you reconsider participating in this panel) we will notify you at the most recent mailing address or email address we have on file and we will provide you with access at least 30 calendar days prior to its implementation, giving you time to resign from the panel if you want. You may view the currently effective Notice at any time by checking the Notice posted on this Site. Your continued participation after the effective date of any changes will constitute your acceptance of all effective changes.

CONSENT TO GOOGLE FOR SHARING YOUTUBE ACTIVITY DATA

Nielsen may send to Google LLC ("Google") panelist data, including an encrypted Mobile Advertising ID that identifies your mobile device and/or unique panelist identifiers assigned to you by Nielsen . Google will not be able to decrypt the Mobile Advertising IDs provided by Nielsen, and Nielsen will not provide identifying, personal information about you, such as your name, your address or email address to Google.

By clicking "Accept" below, you give your consent to Google to (1) receive from Nielsen the encrypted Mobile Advertising ID that identifies your mobile device and unique panelist identifiers assigned to you by Nielsen; and (2) share information with Nielsen about the YouTube videos that have been watched on your mobile device.

Except as provided above, Google's processing and collection of data received from Nielsen or otherwise collected by Google in connection with your use of Google's services will be in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy ().

Nielsen will use information received from Google exclusively for market research purposes in accordance with this Notice. Privacy settings that Google separately makes available to you may not impact the data that will be compiled and shared under this agreement. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future by logging onto the Panel Management website, clicking on the "Opt Out of Panel" link, and following the instructions provided.
